Ivo Ivanov extends his contract with Beroe

Beroe’s captain Ivo Ivanov today extended his contract for another two years. He will be staying at the team until May 2018. He is currently the player with most appearances for Beroe from the current squad. He has exactly 200 games with the clubs’s jersey and has scored 10 goals.

Ivo Ivanov has won with Beroe two Cups of Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Supercup.

He is born in Kazanlak on March 11, 1985. He is 185 cm tall an weighs 80 kg, playing as a central defender. His youth career started in Beroe and most of his professional path is connected to the club from Stara Zagora, too.

Ivanov’s first coach was Angel Yanev. He joined the first team of Beroe in 2003 when the Asparuh Nikodimov was appointed team managed. During the first month he impressed not only Nikodimov, but also the fans with his dedication in training. On August 23, 2003 he first appears for Beroe in the away game against Shumen in B grupa. In his first season he is nominated as best young player in the championship for Yuliyan Manzarov.

Ivo Ivanov is a former U21 national team player being capped by Petar Miladinov. He also has one cap for the national men’s representation against Malta.

On June 8, 2010 Ivo Ivanov was transferred to Levski Sofia for a fee of 200 000 leva. Two years later he returned in Beroe.
